A migraine is a relatively painful headache that is usually on one side. However, it can also be on both sides. Symptoms include throbs, and spikes, followed by other characteristics like nausea or light and sound sensitivity.
As experienced by certain migraine sufferers, a few symptoms appear well before the headache, such as ‘Aura’ – neurological signs. For instance, you may see dots or zigzag patterns on one side of your body, or you may have numbness or tingling.
There are various migraines, including chronic migraines, retinal migraines, and hemiplegic migraines, among others. A significant proportion of sinus headaches are technically migraines, frequently misdiagnosed.
