Renée Zellweger was one of the most sought-after actors in the industry after her ground-breaking appearance in Bridget Jones’s Diary. She won her first Academy Award for her role in Cold Mountain not long after.
But in 2010, Zellweger took a six-year hiatus from it all. “I was weary and wasn’t taking the time I needed to recover between assignments. I had to go away from the sound of my voice. It caught up with me,” she confessed to Vogue UK.
Zellweger went on to say that she was relieved to be able to engage with people without being recognized as a celebrity. “I found anonymity to communicate with individuals on a human level, all while not having this reputation that precedes me.”
