Rick Moranis was one of the most popular comedians of the 1980s and early 1990s. Who can forget his unforgettable role as Wayne Szalinski in Joe Johnston’s – Honey, I Shrunk the Kids?!
Sadly, tragedy struck in 1997 when Moranis’ wife, Ann, died of breast cancer after a long struggle. Moranis pulled away from the spotlight to focus on being a single dad after deciding that making movies and raising his two children was too stressful.
Moranis acknowledged that he intended to take a brief break from the industry at first but quickly discovered he didn’t miss it. Since then, he’s done a few voice roles and TV appearances, but he’s still going strong.
