SELF CARE
The natural color of cotton isn’t ultra–white. Just because most people believe and prefer something that makes us feel like pure white, they’re adding something that makes it look ultra-white, the same way in sanitary pad companies uses a chemical called dioxin to bleach the cotton.
Ignorantly, we are paying a high price for being neat freaks. Such companies may argue that the pads contain deficient levels of dioxin and are not harmful, but let us think for ourselves.
Based on research, short-term exposure to dioxin can cause many issues like skin darkening and altered liver function.
On an average count, a woman might be using 6,000 sanitary napkins in her lifetime. When dioxin comes into contact with the internal body, it can cause serious health risks and diseases such as immune system damage, hormone dysfunction, diabetes, ovarian cancer, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc.
