There is a lot of reflecting on and attempting to look forward when determining who should be Person of the Year each December. When e-commerce was only getting started in 1999, Bezos was the obvious pick. Zuckerberg was chosen in 2010, long before it was evident what impact Facebook would have on society and democracy.
We don’t yet know how much Tesla, SpaceX, and the other projects. Musk is working on what will alter our lives. He has plenty of time, at 50, to write his and our futures. Whether we like it or not, we now live in Musk’s universe.
