Yvette Butler has over 30 years of experience working with the tech industry’s top innovators and investors who seek to create wealth utilizing alternative and concentrated personal investments. She was the president of Capital One Investing before joining SVB.

She grew up watching her grandmother, who used to manage multiple businesses, including a farm, a convenience store, and an auto repair shop. The best advice she received was “Be a clear communicator.” Yvette says her grandmother was very direct.

She understood what personalities would best work together and which employee was best suited for each position. She says, “I still incorporate my grandmother’s effective communication style into my management approach.”
